VicRoads Shoulder Widening Road Upgrade Program

Rural road crashes account for more than 65% of the Australian road toll each year and the rate of serious road related injury among residents in rural areas is nearly twice that of those in our major cities.

A large percentage of Australia’s aging road network is narrow pavements with damaged road shoulders, causing driving hazards for road users. Widening of shoulders gives the road user an area to recover, regain control and get safely back onto the road in emergency situations.

Stabilised Pavements is proud to be involved in making a difference with our crews working across Regional Victoria completing over 130kms of shoulder widening with VicRoads over 2020-2021.
