The project included the rehabilitation of the existing pavement by pavement recycling using foamed bitumen.

Located within the Launceston CBD, and adjoining many heritage listed buildings, the project required attention to detail to limit stakeholder impacts, reduce construction duration and protect existing underground services and stone kerb and channel.
The SPA team worked closely with the client to refine the design and construction methodology to ensure we were able maximise cost savings and achieve productivity and exceed stakeholder expectations.
Whilst foamed bitumen is a solution utilised within Australia for over 40yrs, this was a new pavement recycling treatment type for council and hence required suitable support from our pavement engineering team to assist with geotechnical investigation, pavement design and construction management.
